A day at Santo stefano Quisquina

rediscovering nature and its traditional taste

Excursion:

 

9:00 am: Arrival at a local farm. Sheep milking and observation of all the preparation  steps in making ricotta cheese.

10:30 am: Rediscovering a country breakfast with traditional simple dishes: ricotta cheese with whey, homemade hot bread with oil, pepper and cheese fresh out of the oven… then visit at the farm. caseificio

12:00 am: Visit at the charming Santa Rosalia hermitage in the naturalistic woods of Quisquina. The visit begins at the holy grotto where the Saint lived for twelve years; beautiful affrescoes in a 17th century church made by the Manno brothers, the crypt, convent rooms and kitchens are also visited.

13:30 pm: Return to Agrigento.

18.30  pm:
On request dinner in a family runned farm with typical pizza cooked with a wood fire and wine typical wine, and after return to Agrigento.
